Actress Brittany Daniel has finally made her return to hit series, The Game, since her departure three years ago. We now know why that may have been. The actress was secretly battling stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In an interview with People magazine, the 38-year-old opens up, for the first time, about her diagnosis and battle. She discovered she was suffering from the disease, during a doctor’s visit, after experiencing excruciating back pains, night sweats and flu like symptoms.
After receiving the diagnosis, she immediately moved with her mother and in with her identical twin, Cynthia Daniel.
“There is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family,” Daniel told the magazine. “My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this.”
Thankfully, today, the actress is cancer free and is now able to share her story with the world.
Daniel has already returned to “The Game” (season 7), reprising her role as the beloved character, Kelly Pitts.
The new season kicked off March 4th. You can catch the show every Tuesday night 1PM/ET on BET.
