[Throwback Fridays] Ciara: “Goodies” Feat. Petey Pablo

0

We were introduced to Ciara, dubbed the ‘Princess of Crunk&B’, back in 2004 with her debut single “Goodies” featuring southern rapper Petey Pablo. The then 18 year old’s breathy vocals over the Lil’ Jon crunk beat rejecting male advances because her “goodies” will “stay in the jar” was a commercial success. The single peaked # 1 in the United States for seven weeks, becoming the longest-running number one debut single by a female artist since 1977. It also topped the UK charts and reached the top ten in many other international markets. It’s still a song many of us can still get down to today and for that reason it makes it on our throwback Fridays list. Without further adieu, here is “Goodies”.
