- Jewelry designer – Are you a crafty jewelry maker? Start a business. Build your clientele by offering free designs to family members and friends in exchange for their reviews and referrals
- Craft maker – Arts and crafts may be a dying art but it’s still very much in demand. In fact, with less competition, it may be to your advantage to set up shop if this is your forte
- Sell on Amazon – Amazon is the leading online retailer with an array of options with over 150 million unique monthly visitors. From clothing, shoes, to books, medical supplies, furniture, electronic devices, sporting goods, items for travel and leisure and now food delivery services, why not tap into a platform already in demand
- Sell on Etsy – Etsy is a great platform for creatives. From jewelry designs, arts and crafts and supplies, art and collectibles. An added benefit is that while Amazon does not offer many options for digital products, Etsy does
- Personal Stylist – Unfortunately, not everyone has style. It’s for that reason that there’s a demand for personal stylists. If you’re a style maven and knows the right look for any body type, become a personal stylist
- Hair Stylist – Have a natural talent for hair design and care but don’t have big bucks to set up shop? Become a traveling hair stylist or take house calls. You may even want to consider holding virtual tutorials for wanna-be hair stylists
- Fitness Expert – Finding the right fitness program can be challenging to those looking to get and stay in shape. Customizing programs, meal plans and workouts is a great entry into becoming a fitness coach. Passionate about having a fit and healthy lifestyle? Offer tips with proven results that you’ve acquired over time
- Yogi – For individuals who prefer low impact workouts or want to expand on their yoga skills, as a Yogi, this is a market that is best for you. Offering virtual trainings are great add-ons as well
- Childcare Provider – Childcare is an essential service for working parents. If you’re great with children and have available space, in or outside of your home, starting a childcare business could be right for you (please refer to your local state laws for proper licensing and adhere to regulations.)
With any business idea, however, it’s important to note that you must do your research on what essential tools are needed, including licensing and certifications. Also research your state laws before starting a business to be privy to requirements and regulations.
