While researching the market, it is important to know the average salary for that position. You also want to consider the geographic location average as well. At times, the location can affect the salary. Once you know the average salary baseline on the market, that can help you with your negotiations.

Your resume displays your skill set for employers, but you also have to have confidence within yourself and know what you can bring to the table. When evaluating your skills, it is important to consider your years of experience within that position. You also want to include any leadership positions that you have had within that industry. Also think about the amount of education or certifications that you have in that position.
