After seven years since joining the panel, Sherri Shepherd has decided to leave ABC daytime talk show, The View.

“It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on,” Shepherd said Thursday in a statement to Deadline.

“I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

Sherri’s fellow View co-host, Jenny McCarthy, has also announced her leave from the Emmy award winning daytime talk show after just one season on the panel.

It’s been speculated that the two ladies did not go on their own accord but was forced to do so by producers of the show — who are looking to bring on some new blood.

With Shepherd and McCarthy out and Barbara Walter‘s retirement this year, Whoopi Goldberg is the only remaining full-time co-host. And with comedian Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck (whom McCarthy replaced) both leaving the show last year, the show has resorted to bringing on celebrity co-hosts for much of this past season.

It’ll be interesting to see who the show’s creators bring on for their big shake up next season.
