It is with great sadness that we report two members of Nicki Minaj‘s entourage and friends to fellow rapper Fabolous were stabbed fatally, on Wednesday, in Philadelphia.
A bar fight, involving team members of female rap superstar Nicki Minaj, spread onto a Philadelphia street leaving one man dead and another in the hospital, the singer says.
The argument began around 2 a.m. Wednesday inside Che Bar & Grill along Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood.“We believe that both of the victims, as well as the perpetrator, were all inside of this bar and that’s when an argument started,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
The argument spread outside the bar where one of the men, believed to be around 30 years old, pulled out a knife.A 29-year-old stabbing victim died. A 27-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to his side that left him in critical condition.
“We believe he is going to survive his injuries,” said Small. – NBC Philadelphia
We have since learned that the victims have been identified as De’Von Pickett (deceased) and Eric Parker (listed in critical condition).
Employees at nearby Einstein Medical Center called 911 around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after the two victims arrived in the emergency room.
Police later returned to the 6300 block of Stenton Avenue where they found personal items, a cellphone and blood on the sidewalk outside the bar. A Philadelphia Police crime camera and business surveillance cameras possibly captured at least part of the incident, said investigators.
Police said the suspect was last seen driving off in a gray Buick LeSabre.
Earlier, witnesses told investigators that the dispute possibly had to do with a recently fired employee. Small said that police were working to verify if that was actually the case. – NBC Philadelphia
Upon hearing the news, the rapstress tweeted, “Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour.”
Fabolous also shared the news and a heartfelt message with followers on social media.
He writes, “My heart is heavy right now… God opened my eyes this morning at 9:49am. For some reason at that time I woke up thinking about both of these guys. They both work with me, but I couldn’t figure out why they were in my mind at 1st wake up. Wasn’t sure if I had a dream & they were in it or just some wake up & process things type shit.. But at 10:04 my brother hit me & told me that they both were fatally stabbed in Philly last night. My friend @daydaydoesdis (left) died & my friend Eric Parker is in critical condition in the hospital fighting for his life. I am still in shock & don’t want to believe this. And it hurts even more knowing how good these two dudes are. How hard these guys work. And how loyal they are to whoever they are down with & each other. Please send Eric Parker your blessings & a prayer for him to pull thru. And RIP to the fallen soldier Day Day. I can’t even believe I’m saying that with your name attached to it. & I HATE this being a post!! I will miss your energy, your vibe, & you but I’ll hold on to your spirit!!
